Orion Academy Parent Teacher Organization 2019-2020 Executive Board
Anne Foley – President
Anne is in her 2nd year as an Orion parent, her son is currently a sophomore. Anne has served on the Auction Committee and helped with Staff Appreciation and Prom. While her day job is in corporate finance, she has volunteered with numerous school associations over the years, including serving as President, Treasurer, Webmaster and Secretary. Anne volunteers at Tony Larussa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) in the adoptions department. She lives in Concord with her husband, two sons and dogs, Zoe and Oliver. She loves the holidays with her family, reading, yoga and taking her dogs for long walks.
Kim Rogers – Vice President
Kim is in her 3rd year as an Orion parent and her son is a junior this year. Last year Kim served as a “member at large” on the PTO Board. She chaired the Fall Dance last year and will do so again this year. In addition, she has helped with Prom and Graduation decor as well as the auction and Staff Appreciation luncheon last year. Kim has a background in Events, Catering and Visual Merchandising. She lives in Moraga with her husband and two sons. She loves traveling with her husband and boys, being near the sea, pilates, cooking and her French Bull Dog – Buster Posey.
Christine Kantor – Secretary
A second year Orion parent, Chris’ son is a sophomore and her daughter is a freshman at Olin College of Engineering. Chris attended UCLA and Berkeley where she studied organizational development. She left insurance and human resources, for high technology startups enabling their successes which included IPO and establishing European offices. After the kids came along, she began mentoring parents and has been a speaker for pediatricians of the AAP, medical students at Stanford and UCSF, as well as for teachers obtaining their special education credentials at SFSU and USF. Chris enjoys being part of Orion’s wonderful community with her husband. They are a family of golfers.
Jennifer Wickland – Treasurer
Jennifer and her son are looking forward to their second year as an Orion family. Jennifer previously worked as a management consultant and served on the Home and School Club Board and as Chair of various Committees at her children’s elementary school. Now, Jennifer braves the 130-mile school commute and finds creative ways to spend school days in Moraga. Jennifer is excited to work with Orion’s amazing parent community in her new role as Treasurer. At home, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, their two kids and fur babies Mia, Gracie, Cassie and Sell. Jennifer is an aspiring quilter and finds request ways to indulge her hobby in her East Bay home-away-from-home. To connect on quilting, carpool options, or East Bay pastimes, please reach out!
Heather Padgette – Member-at-large
Heather Clapp Padgette’s son is a freshman at Orion. Heather, her husband, their two sons and their border collie, Hayley, moved from the Washington DC area to Alameda in late 2017 and they are enjoying getting to know their new city, region and state. Heather consults in the field of education reform and policy, and works with school districts, foundations, nonprofits and state and federal government agencies. She is currently serving as co-chair of the Alameda Special Education Family Support Group. She is very excited to get to know more Orion families, to learn more about local resources and supports for families, and to help support the school.
